Bradley Jazz Ensembles present Spring Concert

Peoria, IL (April 13, 2011) The Bradley University Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab Band, under the direction of Dr. Todd Kelly, will present a spring concert on Saturday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. Tickets are $5 for general admission and free for students.  
 
The Jazz Lab Band will open the concert with several selections, including “Do Whatcha Wanna” “Pass the Peas,” and a tune composed by members of the band.

The 19-member Jazz Ensemble will perform the music of Buddy Rich, Count Basie, Ted Heath, Bob Mintzer, and Thad Jones. Selections include “Kid from Red Bank,” “Aha,” “Groovin Hard,” “Memories of You,” “Groove Merchant,” and “Superstition.”

Dr. Todd Kelly, associate professor of music, directs the Bradley Jazz Bands and Jazz Combo, teaches studio trumpet, and serves as the advisor for the Music Business program. He is in demand throughout the Midwest as a soloist and clinician.
