Presents: The Guelph Comedy Festival
Need a break
from the Election? See local boy make the leap from his folkie roots to the
standup stage!
Guelph.
ON, April 15, 2011 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Guelph Comedy Festival will relieve the community
election dejection blues on April 29th and 30th with a brilliant
line-up of stand up, sketch and improve comedians.
Sure you can see comedy anywhere, but Guelph's
own James Gordon (Standup) warms Saturday night, leaping into the world of
comedy from his folkie roots. Gordon is a natural story teller, world traveler,
and unbeatable performer who will regale you with his unique understanding of
life, in Guelph, in Canada, and on the road. Just a local boy, making good.
– this is Gordon’s first time taking on the world of standup -
history in the making!
Following Gordon on Saturday night, Fraser Young
(Standup) will be performing. Young is an award-winning comic who brings down the
house! Fraser Young has a style all his own. From Toronto, he has headlined
clubs as far away as Hong Kong, and is now based in New York City. Fraser has
made several national television and radio appearances, including an episode of
“Comedy NOW!”, his own comedy special, broadcast on CTV and The
Comedy Network in Canada. He is one of the breakout stars of MuchMusic’s
very popular “Video On Trial”. His first comedy CD “Everyone
Loves A Smug Bastard”, got him invited to the Just For Laughs festival as
the only Canadian in the New Faces showcase. Not your standard setup-punchline
comedian, his act involves mixing unique observations into his eccentric,
anecdotal comedy. http://www.youngfraser.com/
