"The work in Equal=Secret Identitiestracesits origins to religious iconography, societal subcultures, and the
relationship between photographer and subject. Photography has always had the power to reveal our hidden
selves. In these portraits by Josue Castro, the sitter's identity may be physically hidden from us, but a greater
secret is revealed. Opening us to a lifestyle with its own rules and defined roles.
In all of Castro's work his sensitivities are with culturally charged imagery and indigenous protocols. His

in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles at the
FACTORY PLACE ART COMPLEX in the Arts
District. The
Gallery established in 2005, is dedicated to
the promotion of national and international
contemporary artists, providing quality and
original art for established and emerging
collectors as well as a variety of
International Art Exchanges, art residences
and workshops programs for artists.
Regular Hours: Tuesday to Friday from
10:30am to 6pm.
Saturdays -
12:00 noon to 6:30pm.
