The fourth of a lecture series evaluating keywords in art, culture and society. Artist and writer Coco Fusco and academic Sara Ahmed, explore the term 'resistance' in relation to diversity and cultural practice.

Coco Fusco is Chair of the Fine Art Department at Parsons/The New School for Design, New York. Her interdisciplinary work draws on her Cuban heritage, using language, performance and multimedia to explore issues of difference and cultural politics.

Sara Ahmed is Professor in Race and Cultural Studies at Goldsmith's University. Her research is concerned with how bodies and worlds take shape, and how power is secured and challenged in everyday life, as well as institutional cultures.

A last minute intervention responds to current political events
The first solo exhibition in the UK by Lebanese artist, theatre director, playwright and actor Rabih Mroué includes a last minute intervention by the artist which responds to the uprisings in Arab countries. The original title I, the Undersigned has been replaced with The People are Demanding and a new work produced for Rivington Place's large window on to the street.

Other work in the exhibition incorporates video footage, photos and found documents, blending political engagement with the artist's own personal story.
