ACP Second Installment Autumn Exhibitions and Term 2 Workshop

It’s that time of year when we start counting down to the 2011 Head On Portrait Prize and the announcement of the winners on the opening night on 5 May. Our next series of exhibitions also sees the sweetly existential works of Gilbert Garcin and an audio-visual generative installation by Riley Post. Don’t miss out on the Head On Festival Hub, a relaxed environment in which photo enthusiasts can share ideas and participate in a stimulating program of mini-events in the ACP galleries.

The Term 1 Workshop Student Exhibition opens at 6pm this Wednesday 20 April so come and get inspired by the creativity of our talented photographers. Term 2 courses also kick off soon, visit the ACP Workshop homepage to see our full list of courses and download the brochure in PDF format.

Foundation Course

Gilbert Garcin

Head On Portrait Prize

Now in its eight year and with prizes valued at over $50,000, the Head On Portrait Prize is a significant event in the national photography calendar. Showcasing the work of emerging and established practitioners, the award demonstrates the stimulating diversity of new and traditional photographic practices in Australia today.

The Hub acts as the heart of the Head On Photo Festival, housing a diverse program of photo-based experiences encompassing informal talks, presentations, portfolio exchanges and screenings. Complete with a notice board and wireless internet for laptops, it's the hot spot for visitors to meet, chat and conduct business.
