Bruce Goff: A Creative Mind Closing Sunday

BARTLESVILLE, OK – Price Tower Arts Center is wrapping up its latest exhibition, Bruce Goff: A Creative Mind.  The show opened in January and features many unrealized or destroyed works of Oklahoma architect, Bruce Goff.  The exhibition’s last day will be Sunday, May 1st.

“This exhibition has been very well-received,” said Tim Boruff, executive director of Price Tower Arts Center.  “Visitors enjoyed seeing some of Goff’s artwork as well as architectural drawings, models and 3-D animations of his projects.”

Price Tower Arts Center collaborated with the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and the Colleges of Architecture and Engineering at the University of Oklahoma.  Goff’s original drawings were the primary resource for the exhibition and were brought to life utilizing 3-D construction models and cinematic photorealistic computer animation.

“Goff passed away in 1982, but his influence on the world of architecture continues today,” said Scott W. Perkins, curator of collections and exhibitions for Price Tower Arts Center.  “It was great to be able to share some of Goff’s most stunning designs to illustrate for visitors why Goff is considered among the pioneers of the organic design movement.”

Price Tower Arts Center will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, the last day of the exhibition.  Sponsors for Bruce Goff: A Creative Mind include ConocoPhillips, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Oklahoma Arts Council and Furthermore:  a program of the J.M. Kaplan Fund.
