As photography entered the digital age, photographers have been drawn to the ability to compete with the grandeur of paintings and other mediums. Unfettered by traditional darkroom processing, fine art photography is no longer limited by size. In response to this trend, Photomedia Center has dedicated its 2011 Open Juried Exhibition to displaying small photographic works, to remind viewers of the level of detail that can be captured and the feeling of intimacy when you approach an object of diminutive size. Images that work well small can deliver big impact.
Photomedia Center is now accepting entries for its eighth annual juried show. We're partnering with Glass Growers Gallery in Erie, Pennsylvania to exhibit the works which will be selected by artists Louviere+Vanessa.
It's open to all artists working in any photographic media, with no restriction on subject matter. Final framed prints, if selected, must meet specific size requirements for exhibition during September and October 2011. Read the prospectus and follow the guidelines for entry carefully. Early entry: June 1. Deadline: July 31.
