A rare, sneak peek at some of the best contemporary
artwork made in Oakland and the East Bay.
Explore the diverse cultural landscape of Oakland and the
East Bay! A hub for live music, outdoor recreation and locally sustainable
culinary attractions, Oakland is also home to one of the largest artist
communities in the nation, creating cutting-edge contemporary art, craft, and
traditional works.
For two weekends in June, over 400 leading artists open
their studios to the public, offering a rare opportunity for art fans of all
ages to visit artists' studios, peek inside their creative process, and purchase
works directly from local artists-- Discover painting, sculpture, drawing,
watercolor, textiles, jewelry, ceramics, photography, mixed media, glass,
mosaic, print-making, book-arts, furniture, installation, paper, and metal arts.
And during the week join us for more innovative art, groundbreaking museum
and gallery exhibitions, live concerts, and great food in Oakland and the East
Bay!
Participating neighborhoods include: Oakland's Uptown, Jack
London Square, Temescal, Rockridge, Jingletown, Fruitvale, Diamond, West
Oakland, Glenview, Laurel, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond, Alameda and
more.
East Bay Open Studios and The Directory of East Bay Arts
