STEELSTACKS ARTS & ANTIQUES MARKET IN BETHLEHEM OPENS THIS WEEKEND
30 vendors, free antique appraisals & live music highlight market’s 1^st weekend

BETHLEHEM, PA—A wide array of visual arts and crafts, demonstrating artists, free antique appraisals and more await guests at the new SteelStacks™ Arts & Antiques Market, opening May 14-15 on the Air Products Town Square at SteelStacks, First Street and Founders Way, Bethlehem.

The SteelStacks Arts & Antiques Market, which will be open noon-8 p.m. Saturdays and noon-6 p.m. Sundays through Aug. 28, kicks off its summer-long run this weekend with 30 artists showcasing handcrafted jewelry, beautiful glass art, fine art photography, edible sand sculptures for kids and more. As visitors stroll through the market, they’ll hear the sounds of singer-songwriter Krista Parish (Saturday, 3:43 p.m.) and Audio Dynamikz presents "Sundaze" (Sunday 2-5 p.m.), and see ArtsQuest artists Liz Magno and painter Ann Elizabeth Schlegel demonstrating their work. Magno, a mixed media artist, will showcase her jewelry making techniques, while painter Schlegel will showcase her oil painting techniques.

Have an old collectible or family heirloom you think might be worth a few bucks? Bring it to the Arts & Antiques Market this Saturday, May 14, only. From 1-4 p.m., Ray Hartzell of Hartzell’s Auction Gallery of Bangor will be on hand offering free appraisals; limit is one item per person.

In the coming weeks, the SteelStacks Arts & Antiques market will welcome new vendors, demonstrating artists and live performers. Wine tastings by Franklin Hill Winery will also join the mix during the iSabor! Latin Festival™ Weekend June 18-19 and the 4th of July Extravaganza Weekend July 2-4 (market is open noon-8 p.m. July 4^th). Other special themed weekends planned for 2011 include Memorial Day Weekend May 28-30 (market is open noon-8 p.m. Memorial Day), RiverJazz Festival™ Weekend June 25-26, Christmas in July on July 23 and 24 and Polynesian/Tiki Weekend Aug. 27-28. The market will be closed Aug. 6-7 and 13-14 for Musikfest.
