The Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania is delighted to honor Sheila Hicks,
and to celebrate her fifty years of her contributions to the arts. Hicks, whose remarkable career is
surveyed in the retrospective exhibition
Sheila Hicks:
50 Years, has built an international reputation with her painterly and sculptural work in
fiber, which crosses traditional boundaries between art, craft, and design.
