Young Artist 2011 exhibition comes to PE:

 

Nandipha Mntambo’s exhibition, Faena, comes to the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum directly from the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. More here.

 

Arts Council England to launch Creative Case:

 

Arts Council England will launch the Creative Case - a new approach to diversity, during a day-long public symposium in Manchester on Monday 12 September. 

The Creative Case is the Arts Council’s new approach to diversity and equality, setting out how diversity and equality can enrich the arts for artists, audiences and our wider society. More here.

 

South African Artists and Cultural Boycotts at GIPCA:

 

The Gordon Institute of Performing Arts (GIPCA) is hosting a panel discussion on the topic, “South African Artists and Cultural Boycotts: Should the Latest Call for a Cultural Boycott of Israel be Heeded?” Academic Andrew Nash, artist William Kentridge, activist Zackie Achmat and judge Dennis Davis will take part in the discussion. It ties into an ongoing debate involving Nadine Gordimer, William Kentridge and the Cape Town Opera, who have faced calls for a cultural boycott of Israel. More here.
