Port Profile No. 6

Visit Regensburg, "Germany's Best Preserved Medieval City"
Only four cabins left -- join Fine Art Connoisseur as we explore the medieval city center, winding through some of the most amazing examples of Gothic architecture in existence.

Fine Art Connoisseur magazine, your host for this trip (October 2-9, 2011), has created a series of special art excursions designed for people who love and appreciate fine art. In an effort to offer the finest travel experience, we have partnered with Michael Day~Media Incentives & Creative Travel Planners, which has created extraordinary travel experiences for three decades. This firm's meticulous attention to detail has earned it a reputation as one of the world's leading partners for such prestigious publications as Fine Art Connoisseur.

Regensburg, Germany stands fast in the northernmost bend of the Danube River, skirting the lush Bavarian forest to the west. Join us as we navigate the history, art, and scenery of this fortunate pocket of land that was left relatively undamaged during World War II.

We'll traipse to one of the area's famously romantic bridges and experience the blazing sunset. Its ancient structures still form the much-used alleyways and buildings of modern-day Regensburg, offering an unobscured glimpse into history.

We'll likely stop a spell in one of many lovely outdoor cafes that populate the pedestrian-friendly streets of the city center.

The Dom (Cathedral) is imposing in its Gothic majesty, and the Stone Bridge, completed in 1146, is a prime example of the finest in medieval engineering. We'll visit structures of the Romanesque basilica style like the Church of St. James, from the 12th century and covered with intricate Grotesque carvings and ornaments. And if we get parched, as adventurers are wont to do, perhaps a famous Regensburg beer or two in a classic stein might suit our fancy.

Regensburg is an architectural wonderland, spotted with centuries-old stone structures and marvelous teeming gardens. It is truly a slice of the Old World, wrapped up in tradition yet teeming with new possibilities.

This is a luxury cruise for art aficionados hosted by Fine Art Connoisseur Publisher B. Eric Rhoads and Editor Peter Trippi, (October 2-9, 2011). You can view the itinerary and details about every aspect of the trip at DanubeArtCruise.com. Due to the low-profile size, and intimacy, of our river cruise ship, cabin and suite space is limited.

Reserve your cabin today -- there are only four left!

If you have any questions about the trip, please e-mail Gabriel Haigazian (gabriel@ctptravel.com) at Creative Travel Planners or call him at 800.255.3070 ext. 123, or to learn more, visit www.danubeartcruise.com.
