Timothy Yarger Fine Art (TYFA) has been selected to participate with the Getty Museum’s initiative, Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980 involving more than sixty cultural institutions across Southern California, coming together to tell the story of the birth of the L.A. art scene. Pacific Standard Time will take place for six months beginning October 2011.

TYFA's Studio Visits  is part of  this unprecedented collaboration with the Getty Museum, an exhibition of the photography of internationally celebrated and third generation Angelino, Jim McHugh.

Studio Visits opens October 13, 2011, in the Beverly Hills gallery and includes intimate and candid moments with David Hockney, John Baldessari, Robert Irwin, Ed Ruscha, Sam Francis, Dennis Hopper, Lita Albuquerque, Don Bachardy, and Ed Moses among others.  Many of the photographs have never been exhibited and include original prints from the era.

Sculptor, Chul-Hyun Ahn, is currently featured at the Delaware Art Museum’s Perception/Deception: Illusion in Contemporary Art, May 21, 2011 – September 25, 2011.  The exhibition explores perceptions through the use of shadow play, lights, mirrors, and complex paintings and sculptures that underscore the tension between appearance and reality of the world around us.

The DAM acquired Tunnel (photo at the left) and the final example of the work is on display at the Beverly Hills gallery. Contact the gallery for information on Tunnel and other available works.

**TYFA will conduct a major exhibition of the artist's work in Beverly Hills opening November 5, 2011.**

Announcing that Juan Carlos Munoz Hernandez is now represented by TYFA.

This remarkable artist, foundry assistant to Robert Graham for 15 years, combines graffiti art, sculpture and paintings to create a fresh cultural expression.

His work is currently on exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of California Art in
Street Cred: Graffiti Art from Concrete to Canvas, thru September 4, 2011.

Internationally renowned as one of the most fertile grounds for graffiti art, the City of Angels has its own idiosyncratic graffiti styles. The Los Angeles artists featured in Street Cred represent a broad range of genres and the exhibition also includes Steve Grody’s photographs documenting the origins of the graffiti scene, providing key insights into the visual “language” of graffiti, its development in Los Angeles, the ways in which the street informs the canvas, and how the two worlds interact. More information is available here.
