Hello everyone

with The Phillips Museum.  This evening at 4:45 p.m. please join us  
for a reception and gallery talk by Vonn Sumner, whose beautiful oil  
paintings are installed in the Dana Gallery.  I hope to see you

Reception First Friday, September 2, 2011- 4:45 p.m.



Californian artist, Vonn Sumner now lives and works in Lancaster,  
PA.   The figures in his paintings are often costumed in ways that  
create psychologically rich associations and unique formal  
characteristics. He is part of a generation of young figurative  
painters who embrace the tradition of figure painting with an eye  
toward the aesthetics of Modernist abstract, conceptual art, comics  
and cartoons.
A reception and gallery talk by the artist is slated for First Friday,  
September 2, beginning at 4:45 pm.
