Asphalt Orchestra

Kicking off the 30th Anniversary season is Asphalt Orchestra, a band that brings a radical new twist to the processional music tradition. This boldly original 12-piece ensemble combines inventive choreography with an infectiously hip sound that shatters the mold of traditional marching music. Asphalt Orchestra offers a program that The New York Times describes as “part parade spectacle, part halftime show, and part cutting-edge contemporary music concert …exhilarating!”

Adele Myers and Dancers

For more than a decade, Adele Myers has lit up the dance world with a singular style that combines effortless grace with a sly sense of humor. A gifted choreographer working with a vivacious five-member ensemble, Myers uses movement to create expressive narratives told from a distinctly female perspective. Gare St.Lazare - "The End"

Arriving at the Redfern on a tidal wave of acclaim, Gare St. Lazare Players Ireland presents a mesmerizing theatrical adaptation of The End by Samuel Beckett. Performed as a one-man show by the masterful storyteller Conor Lovett, The End portrays an intimate portrait of a nameless old man cast aside by his caretakers at the end of his life. Told with humanistic insight and wry Irish wit, The End is a remarkable story brought to life by the dazzling talents of its performer.

Nonbinary algorithms and sexism collide in Truth Values, a painfully funny production about one woman's struggle to navigate the male math maze. Inspired by the actual experiences of actress-playwright Gioia De Cari, this hilarious one-woman show follows De Cari's misadventures as a female Ph.D. candidate in the elite boys club of the M.I.T. math department. This "appealing, nimble-witted performer" (The Boston Globe) presents a comical, caustic and perceptive glimpse of what it takes to be a professional woman in a male-dominated arena.

Nearly 100 years after the legendary explorer Ernest Shackleton embarked on his iconic expedition to Antarctica, the miraculously talented performers of The Phantom Limb Company bring this gripping tale back to life in a strange and beautiful form. Featuring a haunting score by the Kronos Quartet, 69 Degrees South conjures up an unforgettable world of ice and darkness, where the only force stronger than the elements is the endurance of the human spirit.

The Acting Company - "The Comedy of Errors"

Mistaken identities, infidelity, and demonic possession are the ingredients for The Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare’s side-splitting farce performed with gusto by one of America’s most beloved theatre companies. When two sets of twins are separated at birth, the ensuing identity crises results in accidental seductions, daring heists and more. The Comedy of Errors blends the Bard’s timeless wisdom with a high-spirited comical verve. The Redfern is proud to co-sponsor The Acting Company’s performance of The Comedy of Errors at the Colonial Theatre.
