CURRENT EXHIBITION: “Crude Reflections/Cruda Realidad”
Featuring photography by Lou Dematteis
Now through Saturday, November 5

Thank you to all who attended the opening reception for "Crude Reflection," as well as the artist talk hosted in collaboration with Amazon Watch. Lou Dematteis’s stunning documentary photography illustrates both the devastation and uplifting campaign for justice in the Ecuadoran Amazon, where oil drilling has impacted rainforest communities and indigenous nations.

"Everywhere I turned, it seemed, I encountered people with cancer, birth defects and other serious health problems.
I was determined to help give voice to the people who are living this tragedy and to their fight to force Chevron, who bought
Texaco in 2001, to clean up the contamination and compensate its victims. I hope that the photographs and testimonies in
'Crude Reflections: Oil, Ruin and Resistance in the Amazon Rainforest' help do that."
