2012 Standard Bank Young Artist Award Winners:

 

The 2012 Standard Bank Young Artist Award winners were announced at a ceremony in Johannesburg on Wednesday 02 November 2011. They are: Mikhael Subotzky for Visual Art;
Princess Zinzi Mhlongo for Theatre; Kelebogile (Pearl) Boikanyo for Music; Bailey Snyman for Dance and Afrika Mkhize for Jazz. Art South Africa congratulates the winners and looks forward to seeing their work at the 2012 National Arts Festival. More here

PPC Young Concrete Sculptor Award Winners:

 

Roelf Daling won the grand prize at the 2011 PPC Young Concrete Sculptor Awards on Wednesday 02 November  for his sculpture, 'The hole we found'. Congratulations! More here.

Matthew Blackman writes: “In a response to the recent vandalizing of Marieke Prinsloo-Rowe’s sculptures, on the Sea Point promenade, DA Councilor JP Smith has warned that, “if the vandal is caught, I will ensure that we prosecute him (I suspect, though, that it is a “her”) to the full extent of the law.” More here.
