21 November – 3 December 2011
Private View Tuesday 22 November 6.00 – 8.30pm
Following Helen Brough’s successful exhibition, Deliriously Urbane, at The Coningsby Gallery in 2010, we are proud to announce that her second major show opens at the gallery this November.
Brough’s new collection of glass light paintings are set in strong laminated glass cases and incorporate her signature botanical and architectural illustrations. These hand painted cut glass panels come together to produce intricate multi–layered compositions.
Each artwork conceals a light panel which radiates hues of amber, orange, pinks and red through the coloured glass, creating a contemporary yet reflective ambience.
This latest work is inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848 –1933), whose experiments with layering painted glass to show multiple textures and panels revolutionised the making of stained glass and reinvented the medium.
This revolutionary technique is resonant in Helen Brough’s innovative collection, which is on display at The Coningsby Gallery for two weeks from 21 November 2011.
Note:
We would love to collaborate with you on this exciting exhibition. The design, aesthetics, architectural and botanical elements in Helen Brough's artworks are innovative and forward thinking, which we think would appeal to your audience.
Helen is available for interviews and any mention of the exhibition will be noted and posted on our public profiles, such as Facebook and Twitter with a link to your website (if applicable).
