Διάλεξη του Viktor Koen // 25.11.11
O διεθνούς φήμης καλλιτέχνης Viktor Koen θα πραγματοποιήσει διάλεξη στα ελληνικά την Παρασκευή 25 Νοεμβρίου, στην Ελληνοαμερικανική Ένωση. Ο Viktor Koen θα παρουσιάσει το έργο του και θα συζητήσει με το κοινό.

VIKTOR KOEN Ο Viktor Koen, ζει και εργάζεται στην Νέα Υόρκη και θεωρείται ένας από τους σημαντικότερους σύγχρονους καλλιτέχνες στα όρια μεταξύ φωτογραφίας και εικονογράφησης. Διδάσκει στη σχολή Parsons School of Design και είναι καθηγητής μεταπτυχιακού στο School of Visual Arts στην Νέα Υόρκη, δημιουργεί εξώφυλλα και εικόνες για μερικά από τα μεγαλύτερα περιοδικά και εφημερίδες, όπως Time, Newsweek, NYTimes, Penguin, Random House κ.ά. Όπως γράφει ο Steve Heller, art director του New York Times Book Review, «ο Viktor Koen έγινε σταδιακά ο πλέον περιζήτητος εννοιακός εικονογράφος που εργάζεται σήμερα στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Σε μένα πάντως είναι απολύτως απαραίτητος…» Το εικαστικό έργο του Viktor Koen χαρακτηρίζεται για τον ιδιαίτερο τρόπο που συνεργάζεται η φωτογραφία με την εικονογράφηση. Μέσα από τις συνθέσεις του απεικονίζει τις φαντασιώσεις, τις ανησυχίες και τις εμμονές του νου, της μνήμης και της σύγχρονης πραγματικότητας μέσα από την κατασκευή σκοτεινών και ευφάνταστων συνθέσεων. Η δουλειά του έχει διακριθεί επανειλημμένα και εκτίθεται διεθνώς σε μουσεία και αίθουσες τέχνης στην Ευρώπη, Αμερική, Ιαπωνία και Αυστραλία.

Open Lecture by Viktor Koen // 25.11.11
On November 25th, the renowned contemporary artist Viktor Koen will give an open lecture at the Hellenic American Union. Viktor Koen will present most of his work and discuss with the public.

VIKTOR KOEN Viktor Koen lives and works in New York. Viktor Koen serves on the faculty of Parsons School of Design and the MFA program of the School of Visual Arts. His images are regularly published in the NYTimes, Time, Newsweek, Esquire, Penguin, Random House and others. As Steve Heller, art director of the New York Times Book Review, writes, “Viktor Koen gradually became the most sought-after conceptual illustrator working today in New York. He is absolutely indispensable to me...» Viktor’s work is characterized by its specificity, thanks to the way in which photography and graphic design work in tandem. By producing alarming and imaginative compositions, he depicts, the fantasies, worries, obsessions of the mind, memory and contemporary reality. His award winning prints are exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia. His work is featured in numerous books and publications worldwide and it’s part of private and institutional collections.
