Join us at NOMA on Friday, December 9th for a discussion with artist Wayne Gonzales and Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Miranda Lash.

New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) presents Wayne Gonzales: Light to Dark / Dark to Light, the artist's first solo museum show in the United States. This exhibition of paintings by nationally recognized Louisiana artist Wayne Gonzales spans from early portraits to never before seen work. Highlights range from paintings of New Orleans native Lee Harvey Oswald to the Louisiana Rigolets.

NOMA 100:
Gifts for the Second Century
On view until January 22, 2012

LOVE

NOMA 100: Gifts for the Second Century
is the culmination of a five year acquisition project, celebrating the museum's 100th anniversary with the exhibition of 110 newly acquired objects, ranging from a laminated color print by American artist Matthew Barney to a seven foot long shark headdress from Nigeria.

When the museum open its doors on December 16, 1911, the institution owned nine works of art. Today NOMA has almost 40,000 art works in the permanent collection.

NOMA 100: Gifts for the Second Century
is a celebration of the museum's growing permanent collection and also marks a pivotal moment of transition with the new directorship of Susan Taylor.

We are thankful for the 75 generous donors who have either promised or gifted new works to the collection. A catalog of NOMA 100 is available in the Museum Shop.
