JOSEPH GALLERY SEEKS OHIO VISUAL ARTISTS
COLUMBUS, OH – The Joseph Gallery is seeking emerging and established Ohio visual artists interested in participating in the development of an exciting print portfolio. Selected artists will have their works displayed in The Joseph Hotel and offered for sale in the Joseph Gallery.
Visual artists, including photographers, 18 years of age and older and residents of Ohio, may apply by submitting three digital images representing their original work. Artists are not required to be printmakers or have any experience in the printmaking process. There is no fee to enter and entries must be received no later than Jan. 31.
A short-list will be selected in mid-February by a panel of professionals. Short-listed artists will meet with Glen Baldridge, artist and co-founder of Forth Estate, to discuss ideas to develop and produce a print for the portfolio. Short-listed artists will subsequently be invited to submit a proposal from which the final selections will be made.
Selected finalists will be compensated with a flat fee of $1,500 to cover the purchase of the prints and travel expenses to New York for print production. A small number of artist proofs will become property of the artist. The resulting edition of prints will remain the sole property of the Joseph Gallery.
The Joseph Gallery will be located in Columbus’ Short North Arts District in conjunction with The Joseph Hotel, a boutique hotel being developed by The Pizzuti Companies. The hotel will feature contemporary art in guest rooms, public areas and the commercial art gallery.
