Press Conference: Arne Quinze - Art by the Sea (Beaufort04)
Arne Quinze will - in light of his upcoming participation in the 4th edition of the Triennial of Contemporary Art by the Sea - Beaufort04 - assist at a press conference in Cologne, Germany at Flanders House. In this exhibition, that will temporarily transform the Belgian coast into a scene for contemporary art, he will expose a work on the beach of Ostend: a bright red installation called "Rock Strangers".

Beaufort04 starts construction works
In the start of February, the construction of the first works begins. Near Chalet West-Hinder in Wenduine (De Haan), Finnish artist Marco Casagrande starts the construction of an enormous Sand Worm. His impressive installation will be over 40 meters long and will provide access to a section underneath the dunes.

Manifesta 9 at Art Rotterdam
The 12th edition of Art Rotterdam takes place February 8-12 at the Cruise Terminal Rotterdam. The Cruise Terminal in Rotterdam was once the departure hall of ships from the Holland-America Line.
In addition to its presence at the fair, Manifesta 9 will organise a presentation at LantarenVenster, just opposite of the art fair on Wednesday February 8 at 2pm. Here Cuauhtémoc Medina will present his curatorial concept. Manifesta 9 will also be present at a booth in the fair. The first edition of Manifesta was held in Rotterdam in 1996.

FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais: European Education Workshop
FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais is pleased to announce the first European Education Workshop, organized in collaboration with the Turner Contemporary, Margate (UK), the S.M.A.K., Ghent (Belgium) and Firstsite Gallery, Colchester (UK).
Over the past few years, FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais has focused on a new kind of relationship with its audiences through participative artistic projects. Today, the FRAC wants to further its involvement of audiences, to make its future building - which will open in Dunkirk in 2013 - a special platform for encounters with its public.
