Liz's "Little Stories," is a collection of small figurative sculptures—some in picture frames, some flying across a wall and others resting as tabletop pieces. The main theme is a connection to nature and the beautifully ordinary treasures to be found there. Each piece illustrates a moment in a little story Liz has imagined. The moments aren't necessarily monumental, but are simply a place the story paused to reveal itself.  The tale and instance may be clear in some pieces and in others they may be obscured or nonsensical.  
 
Liz works with low fire clay and colors her pieces with stains and waxes.  She loves working small:  "There's something intimate and secretive about it that keeps me exploring, playing and having fun."

The reception for Little Stories coincides with the Davis Second Friday ArtAbout: Friday, June 8, The Artery, 207 G Street, Davis, CA is open 7 days a week.  Monday through Saturday: 10-6, Sunday: 12-5, Friday evenings until 9.
