HETAIN PATEL: AT HOME 21 APRIL - 14 JULY 2012 MAIN GALLERY It is with great pleasure we welcome Hetain Patel to New Art Exchange. As an artist who has emerged from the Nottingham art scene and is now achieving international success, we are proud to present his much anticipated solo exhibition, Hetain Patel: At Home. This major touring show of existing and newly commissioned works marks an important turning point in the artist's practice. In a departure from previous self-portraiture works, Hetain will no longer be the sole protagonist in the camera's frame, and in some cases, completely absent. Read more

14 April - 9 June Central & Mezzanine Gallery Terra Nova: Morph Terra Nova explores the scope of work produced by the members of Morph. For this exhibition the Morph group have produced site responsive wall drawings, counterfeit confectionaries celebrating the forthcoming 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, amongst a range of other art works. Morph invites visitors to explore their Terra Nova and discover new lands for yourselves. Admission: FREE Age range: All are welcome   Wednesday 6 June, 10am - 1pm Half Term Workshop Local Reality In this session you will discover, through movement and soundscape, your local area as you have never seen it before! The workshop will highlight our diverse multicultural neighbourhood and the vibrant communities within it. If you could describe it, how would it look? How would it sound? How would it move? Admission: FREE Age range: 11 - 16 year olds   Thursday 7 June, 10am - 12pm Half Term Workshop @Home@? What makes us feel ‘at home’ and what makes us feel less than ‘at home’? Inspired by the work of Hetain Patel, these are the sorts of questions young people will be asking as they explore various art forms with cross-media artist, Chris Lewis-Jones. Friday 8 June, 10pm - 12pm Half Term Workshop Me, Myself and I Inspired by Hetain Patel’s exhibition, this workshop is about exploring your own identity. Working with photographer, Sian Stammers you will create striking self-portraits of yourself and the things that mean something to you. Bring along anything you feel represents your personality - jewellery, objects, clothes, a photo of your favourite place or even some text on your phone! Admission: FREE Age range: 11 - 16 year olds   Thursday 7 June, 1:30pm Gallery Walk and Talk Walk & Talk with Holly Stanton Join Holly Stanton, member of New Art Exchange's Young People's Panel to tour the show, learn more about the artists and share your opinions about the work Admission: FREE Age Range: All are welcome   Thursday 7 June, 8pm - 10pm Spoken Word Poetry Blackdrop Hear vibrant spoken word performances by local artists. June’s event is the BlackDrop Olympic Slam competition. If you wish to take part in the Slam competition, arrive before 8pm. Admission: £3 (£2 concessions) Age range: 18+
