The Association for Visual Arts Gallery (The AVA Gallery) is managed by a Committee that is nominated and elected annually at its AGM. This year there are four committee members on the AVA Committee available for re-election, three Co-opted members for ratification (see below) and four places for new committee members.
Members may serve on the Committee for a period of two years and need to be re-nominated and elected if they wish to continue serving on the AVA Committee. Committee members will commit to no less than 75% of all meetings annually. Constitutionally, four of AVA's current Committee members must stand down in 2012, but they are available for re-election: Caroline Coates, Karen Bruns,
Cobus van Bosch, and Elgin Rust.
You may nominate any person who you think will serve The AVA Gallery.
Meetings of the full Committee take place monthly, after 17:00.
Sub-Committees (EXCO, Artreach, Marketing and Selection) meet less frequently.
The present committee comprises of:
Caroline Coates (Chairperson EXCO), Chad Rossouw (EXCO),
Karen Bruns(Treasurer EXCO),
Stacy Adriaans (EXCO),
Cobus Van Bosch, Elgin Rust,
Toby Orford, and Richard Mudariki.
Co-opted committee members, to be ratified at the AGM:
Chantal Louw, Marilyn Martin, and
Matthew Blackman
The AVA Gallery is now calling for nominations for its committee of maximum 15 members in total for 2012. Your nominations must include the signature of the nominee, (indicating his/her acceptance to stand for AVA's committee) as well as his/her biography abbreviated to 50 words. Please remember that all committee members offer their services on a voluntary basis. Membership of the AVA Gallery is payable annually.
