Sonic Combine at UNIT A - Contemporary Art Space
Sonic Combine, close friends of Robert Rauschenberg, came to UNIT A, home of Marcus Jansen's paintings, and created an experience like no other. Emmy-Award-Winning Musician and Composer Kat Epple, Musician and Composer Laurence Getford, and Artist and "Noisemaker" Lawrence Voytek, make up the progressive, improvisational group Sonic Combine. Performing and working with Robert Rauschenberg, Merce Cunningham, and John Cage in the past, inspires Sonic Combine, as they continue to play in the spirit of the historically-known events- termed as Happenings- which incorporated Rauschenberg's Art, Cunningham's Dance, and Cage's Music.
In May, 2012, Sonic Combine performed in front of a small private audience in UNIT A - Contemporary Art Space. This extraordinary event was documented in this video.
