Bidding Adieu to Our 38th Year

And what a year it’s been. We :

  • Produced 7 exhibitions featuring the work of 55 artists including 27 local artists.
  • Offered an impressive lineup of 51 educational programs.
  • Published a new book, The Art Life: On Creativity and Career, carried in major museum shops and bookstores across the country.
  • Partnered with almost 20 different arts and culture organizations in Atlanta and beyond.
  • Plus so much more!

How did we do all this? With the help of people like you. If you have enjoyed our programming, and want to see more, please make a financial contribution today. In honor of our 38th year, consider making a donation in some celebratory multiple of $38 (like $76, $152, or $380). It’s 100% tax-deductible.

Film Screening: Painter’s Filmmaking

Fri, Jun 15, 8–9:30pm

Andy Ditzler’s Film Love series continues with a selection of historical and contemporary films and videos that connect to our current Painters Panting exhibition. Vibrant and expressionistic results happen when artists use the filmstrip as a canvas. The program begins with abstract films by Hans Richter from the 1920s and ends with painted footage by 2012 Whitney Biennial artist Luther Price. Read more.

Curator Tour: Stuart Horodner

Artistic Director Stuart Horodner leads a tour of Painters Panting and discusses links between the exhibiting artists and their historical predecessors. Plus, it’s a Westside Arts District 3rd Saturday Art Walk, so take a walk on the Westside! Visit the many excellent galleries, shops, and restaurants in our neighborhood, 12-5pm.
