Through a series of figurative images reflecting change, transition and impermanence, this exhibition explores the medium of drawing and its relationship to painting. In ‘Fine Lines’ Hall grapples with images of transformation and journeying. Within the local and global context of climate change, economic uncertainty and political fracturing Hall's work is in many ways her attempt to come to terms with some of these challenges on a personal level.
This body of work forms part of Halls’ practice-led Doctorate, (one of the first in South Africa) at the Centre for Visual Arts, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg.
‘Fine Lines’ will be opened by Professor Juliet Armstrong.
