PICK THE QUILT YOU'D LIKE TO SEE!

Withering Wetlands [NEQM Permanent Collection 2005.02]

The Permanent Collection of the New England Quilt Museum holds hundreds of antique and contemporary masterpieces. These are exhibited from time to time but it can be luck of the draw whether any particular one is on public view at any given moment.

Now, museum members have a unique opportunity to pick a quilt they'd like to examine and have it pulled for their personal viewing pleasure. The first three members to email curator Pam Weeks (curator@nequiltmuseum.org) can help choose the quilts to be shown at the next Coffee, Quilts & Curator on Saturday, June 23rd (10AM).

Check out the museum collection on Quilt Index. You can also see some of the collection quilts on our website. Then, email Pam with your wish and she'll make every effort to have the quilt out for you to see.

Coffee, Quilts & Curator is a FREE monthly Members-only program offering backstage tours of the current exhibition or the Permanent Collection. Become a member today and enjoy all the benefits membership offers.

Thanks to generous contributions, we've been able to secure a historic quilt by Thankful Hall Miller which has a strong family link others in to the Permanent Collection. [To learn about the quilt, see our Blog page.)

Quilts can be fragile and they rarely survive long use. Most are loved to shreds. That's why this rare quilt still needs extensive conservation. Please consider donating to the museum's Acquisitions Fund to help get the job done.

Several of the Thankful Hall Miller family quilts will be featured in our fall exhibition, Great Quilts, Great Stories.

2 NEW RAFFLES!

Two wonderful items are now up for raffle to support the programs and mission of the New England Quilt Museum.

December 14, 2012 is the drawing date for a Janome Memory Craft 6600P sewing machine. Also included is a rolling tote, for a total value of $2,599. This fabulous machine was generously donated by Red Barn Sewing & Yarn Center [Merrimack, MA], longtime supporters of the museum. Tickets: $5.

On May 2, 2013, we'll be drawing the name of the lucky winner of a beautiful Aunt Grace Circle of Friends quilt. This 80"x80" quilt, designed by Judie Rothermel and Vicki Bellino, was machine pieced, hand appliqued and quilted by Shirley Bangma from a pattern and fabric donated by Helane Huntington [both of Uxbridge, MA]. We are so thankful for their support! Tickets: $1 ea./6 for $5.

For more information on these raffles, visit our website, visit the museum, or call 978-452-4207 ext.16.

The winner of our last raffle for the beautiful Roseville Quilt was Helen Allison of Wallingford, Connecticut. Congratulations!

FENWAY PARK CENTENNIAL
Fenway Park Centennial by Rosemary Bawn
Fenway Park Centennial by Rosemary Bawn

Just in time for the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park comes a quiltmakers' celebration of an American landmark. Astonishing art quilts capture all the excitement of both the ball park and the Red Sox.

For more than two decades, Rosemary Bawn has been turning out stunning art quilts celebrating her beloved team and their home park. From I Remember the $1.00 Bleachers to Reverse the Curse!, these fabulous quilts by Bawn and other quilters will leave you smiling and recalling your own Red Sox memories.

There are just three more weeks to see these fabulous quilts. Bring Dad for Father's Day! He's going to love these quilts--and dads get in free that day!
