With the Middle East constantly in the news, I find myself constantly thinking about that volatile area of the world. It seems to be in a “forever turmoil” mode, fraught with constant danger and uncertainty. Many years ago I had the pleasure of visiting Tehran and driving to the various historical points of interest . The Shah was still in power then, and there was no hint of change or danger. I had a marvelous time, and still think of all the sites and tastes of this region. It bothers me when I am bombarded with all the current publicity about this volatile area of the world. I follow it with great interest and worry about what the future holds for these countries. Consequently, I took my brush and paints in hand, and created the painting shown above. It was created with random visions and strokes of the brush. An abstracted memory of this exotic land. I have some other paintings of this area. They can be found on my website, www.artbyione.com.
