Relax this weekend with a light blend of Oklahoma talent and music styles from around the world. Price Tower Arts Center is collaborating with the Oklahoma based group
Traditional Blend on July 6
th for a great evening of art, architecture, and music for its monthly First Fridays event. Live music begins at 8pm at Price Tower, 510 Dewey Avenue, Bartlesville, Okla.
Traditional Blend performs a variety of music genres, from traditional Celtic tunes spanning Ireland, England, Scotland, Chicago and New York City, to Scottish music of Scotland, Cape Breton and Nova Scotia to National Treasury Music, which includes Old Time Mountain Music from North Carolina and Cajun Creole string band music from the southwestern prairies of Louisiana. If that isn’t lively and diverse enough, they often times throw in a few songs of bluegrass fiddle, guitar standards, light jazz, Hispanic melodies of the southwest, and a classical violin solo or two.

Built in 1956 by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Price Tower began as corporate headquarters for the H.C. Price Company. It is Frank Lloyd Wrightâs only realized skyscraper, and his only public site in Oklahoma. In 2001, the Arts Center officially took ownership of the Price Tower and has worked to both preserve and maintain the building, while promoting arts education throughout the community. Named a National Historic Landmark in 2007, Price Tower is now at the cusp of a most prestigious recognition. Price Tower was recently named an official World Heritage Site Nominee, potentially joining one of only three current World Heritage structures in the United States â Independence Hall, Monticello, and the Statue of Liberty.
