Business Basics for Photographers. The new courses are aimed at professional and emerging photographers who are interested in furthering their commercial photographic skills.
The course develops portraiture skills using a variety of studio lighting arrangements. Under the direction of tutor, Tom Luscombe, students learn classic portrait set-ups including low and high key, Rembrandt lighting and “Hollywood” lighting. The course emphasises a hands-on approach, giving students valuable practical experience working in a studio environment.

This course will give students the opportunity to learn business basics for the photography industry. Through the course students gain insight into freelance photography including an introduction to industry standards and organisations such as Australian Commercial and Media Photographers (ACMP) and the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).
Tutor, Fiona Wolf-Symeonides, an award-winning commercial photographer, will cover the importance of photographers' rights and how to maintain a good reputation within the industry. The course will also feature guest speakers from the industry, providing a wide range of perspectives and insight.

ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN CENTRE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
The Australian Centre for Photography (ACP) is a national centre of excellence in the exhibition, education and publication of photography. With four decades of experience, it is the longest running contemporary art space in Australia.
Established in 1973, ACP’s exhibitions and publications have played an important role in the development of Australian photography. The ACP has a strong history of supporting emerging artists, with many becoming renowned photographic artists. ACP initiated the first major retrospectives of Max Dupain, Olive Cotton and Merv Bishop, and organised exhibitions early in the careers of Bill Henson, Tracey Moffatt, William Yang and Trent Parke. The ACP has also presented works by many acclaimed international photographers.
The Australian Centre for Photography gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the many organisations and individuals that make its programs possible.
