Meet our Curators of the Month:
Kate & Bear Curatorial Collective
Artists Mila Matveeva and Darya Golubina met in Brooklyn sharing a workspace in Ms. Berson’s sixth grade art class. Twelve years later, they founded Kate & Bear as a way to promote, meet and connect with other artists within the small world of New York City. They curate pop-up art shows in lofts, galleries and other spaces, giving artists a platform to showcase their work and interact with their audience, encouraging them to shoot for the moon in any medium.
Darya is an oil painter. She has worked in the interior design, film and fine art industries. Thriving behind the scenes, building and creating you’ll probably get to know this half of Kate & Bear on show set up day.
Mila works in film/TV production and is a photographer and printmaker. At a party her friends once described her to one another as going “to a lot of shows”.
