Catherine Lette

Catherine Lette’s objects represent bodily forms which toy with our preconceptions about contemporary and historical artwork whilst allowing a fictional reality to emerge from the extracted form.  The materials used offer the potential to transport the viewer by hinting towards the illusion of the real whilst simultaneously describing their own boundaries.  The existential reading in the work is cloaked with a certain humour, often highlighted by the titling.

Lucy Read

Lucy Read's charcoal drawing on paper entitled 'Opening Up for Time and Space' depicts a picture of an object containing twelve segments. An object which makes up a complete circle. There are twelve segments with specific reference to the divisions on a clock face. The peeled segments are depicted in such a way that the spaces in between become exaggerated. In thinking of time, linear time (the clock face) she is excited by these exaggerated spaces, these gaps. This picture contemplates unmarked time and the ludicrous thought that we could infinitely divide time up into an indefinite number of segments.

Matthew Frame

Matthew Frame is a London-based illustrator who graduated from Central St Martins highly regarded MA in Communication Design this summer. The social and political framework of modern society informs his work and through his re-appropriation of past ephemera in the construction of his pieces, Matthew exploits a nostalgic impulse in his viewer.

Historically weighted imagery forms the vehicle for his critique of our consumer-driven culture; the use of disparate events and attitudes uncover those factors that have been instrumental in fashioning of our current financial crisis and exposes the cultural progression needed to overcome it.

Danielle Gottesman

A recent graduate from St Martins BA in Fine Art, Danielle’s practice engages with the fragmented survival of objects through the ages, the forms and dimensions that they occupy and the worlds that they evoke in us.

Hyojun
Hyun
Hyojun Hyun was born in Mungyeong, South Korea in 1983. He received a BFA in painting in 2009 from the Hong-Ik University, Seoul. He has just graduated from the MFA programme in the Glasgow School of Art and is currently working in Glasgow, UK. His latest paintings capture scenes in urban parks, and combine his technically accomplished skills as a representational painter with passages of abstraction.
