Theatre Falmouth and The Old Vic Tunnels present Theatre D’art
On the first two days of August, the Theatre programme at Falmouth and The Old Vic Tunnels will host a workshop led by Klaus Kruse and Verity Standen from internationally acclaimed theatre group, Living Structures.
This Theatre Falmouth funded activity entitled Theatre D’art is a pilot by the Old Vic Tunnels and University College Falmouth in preparation for a larger Summer School in 2013. All income from this year’s event will be donated to the Kevin Spacey Foundation. http://kevinspaceyfoundation.com/
The name Theatre D’art was chosen in recognition that Theatre at Falmouth continues the success of Dartington College of Arts, renowned for its approach and its graduates, many of whom are now at the forefront of contemporary performance. Dartington College of Arts merged with Falmouth in 2008 and relocated to a £19 million purpose built Performance Centre.
This year’s theme is Wrap attack and Klaus Kruse and Verity Standen from Living Structures share some of their approaches to working with performance sound and scenography to create thrilling, immersive performance environments.
Participants will experiment with a variety of strategies and create a series of mini performances and interactions.
Klaus Kruse is an award winning German Director, Scenographer, Performer and Writer based in the UK who lectures in Theatre at University College Falmouth. Verity Standen is a London based Composer and Voice Specialist.
Participants must be 18 year of age or over.
£20 total (for both days)
