The Photographic Arts Council (PAC) of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Stephen Cohen Gallery are pleased to announce COLLECTORS’ FAVORITES, a special exhibition of photographs on loan from the private collections of PAC members.
More than sixty artworks will be on view, ranging from early examples of the medium to iconic examples by the masters of photography, along with contemporary works by emerging artists. COLLECTORS’ FAVORITES reflects the diverse passions and interests of PAC’s members, who include many leading California photography collectors. The prints on display will be accompanied by brief statements from each collector explaining his or her reasons for selecting the photographs included in this exhibition and their thoughts on collecting.
Now in its eleventh year, PAC was founded to support LACMA’s Wallis Annenberg Photography Department and to foster individual and community-wide knowledge and appreciation of photography. PAC members receive invitations to artist talks, studio visits, private collection tours, curator-led tours, educational seminars, and exclusive events held in conjunction with the museum’s photography exhibitions. For more information about PAC, contact 323 857-6558 or pac@lacma.org.
