INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS
SOPHIE DICKSON & MAX GIMSON AT ORGANHAUS, CHINA

1 AUGUST - 30 SEPTEMBER 2012

Brighton-based artists Sophie Dickson & Max Gimson have commenced their residencies at Organhaus, China as part of Gasworks' International Fellowships programme.

During their stay, both artists will observe and respond to the vast city of Chongqing, its rapid development and its inhabitants. They will also lead talks and exchanges with local artists, culminating in an open studio event.

TALK: RESIDENCY ARTISTS

TUESDAY 4 SEPTEMBER 2012, 6.30pm

Find out more about the work of two of our current artists-in-residence Sunoj D. (India) and Cécile B. Evans (USA/Belgium).

Whilst at Gasworks, Sunoj D. has conducted research on some of the botanical drawings at the Natural History Museum, whilst Evans is working towards producing a new commission to be presented at this year's Frieze Art Fair.

 
 
PERFORMATIVE TALK: DE-FENCING BY FRANCISCA BENITEZ

TUESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2012, 7pm
 
Residency artist Francisca Benítez (Chile) presents her current research and recent projects. She will discuss de-fence LNP, a site-specific performance piece that took place at Louise Nevelson Plaza in New York and her upcoming show at MAVI, Santiago, Chile where she plans to transform the space into a fully functioning sign language school.

This talk will be translated simultaneously into British Sign Language.

CREATIVE INDIA RESIDENCY AT GASWORKS

The Creative India Residency is open to emerging and mid-career established artists living and working in India. The artist selected for this residency will be expected to engage discursively and speculatively with Gasworks' environments and London's wider artistic and cultural context. EXHIBITIONS INTERNSHIP

Gasworks is looking for a committed intern to assist the Exhibitions Curator on all aspects of the exhibitions programme. In this role the intern will acquire valuable experience by working alongside the curator on solo and group exhibitions, research and events, gaining an insight into the organisational and administrative skills necessary to run a leading artistic programme. NOWHERE LESS NOW
LINDSAY SEERS

8 SEPTEMBER - 21 OCTOBER 2012
 
Tickets are now available for Nowhere Less Now, a new Artangel commission by Lindsay Seers who had her first solo show in London at Gasworks in 2005.

Nowhere Less Now will be Seers' biggest installation to date and has been conceived specially for a 19th century corrugated iron chapel in Kilburn.
