Soon, summer turns into fall

It's hard to believe August is already almost over. And we all know what that means: school will be starting again soon. We're always sad to say goodbye to our campers, but it's definitely exciting to welcome new students and old friends into our fresh lineup of Fall Quarter classes! If you haven't gotten a newsletter in the mail, swing by the front desk to pick one up, or peruse classes by downloading the PDF version from our website. Registration starts September 3, so plan your Fall Quarter schedule now!

We're also looking forward to once again welcoming ambitious artists into Art Shop, Youth Art Board , and The Center Program. These three complementary programs are designed to challenge and support teen and adult artists who are ready for more. Application deadlines are coming up! Don't miss this chance to work with professional arts mentors and take your practice to the next level.

Education Summit

Sunday, September 9, 12-5 pm

Join the Art Center’s Education community to learn about the many people, programs, and studios that make up our education work. Fall courses will be presented by teaching artists, studios will be open to explore, and staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

We'll also host a panel discussion led by Dawoud Bey, one of Chicago's own who has become an internationally renowned artist. The panel will address the question, “Why Does Art Matter?” - and will encourage input from the audience.

Second Sunday!

Sunday, September 9, 1-4 pm

Second Sundays are back at the Art Center to keep your family in fun throughout the school year! Bring your kids to the Art Center to explore free art making activities in our studios.

Since this Second Sunday will also host our Education Summit, everyone who attends will have the opportunity to see all our education programs in action. We hope you'll join in the fun!
