Art News:

"She has an unassuming and relaxed charm usually associated with the bible belt heartland that young female country singers call home, so she's something of an anomaly here in our neck of the woods...Bri Arden's material constructs a bridge I didn't know existed between country soul and urban power-pop. The urban cowgirl shows off a side of things I didn't see coming out of NYC, but it's good to know Muskogee doesn't have anything on Manhattan."

Don't be fooled by the petite stature of singer-songwriter Bri Arden - the vocals that burst from the heart, lungs, and soul of this little powerhouse leave audiences eager to hear the next perfectly constructed note to escape her lips. This young artist, known for sincere, heartfelt lyrics, catchy melodies, and an overall attitude of warmth and positive energy that radiates through any room she enters, credits legendary female singer-songwriters like Janis Joplin, Carole King, Annie Lennox, Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow as some of her greatest influences. With the recent release of her latest EP, Awake, Bri is flying up the rungs of the music ladder to make a bold and brilliant statement.

After initially linking up with guitarist and musician Billy Masters (Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, Suzanne Vega, Lyle Lovett, Kid Rock) upon arriving in New York, Bri has been fortunate to work with an all-star cast of talent along her journey. She's co-written and recorded with some of the biggest names in the music business, including Grammy-award nominated and multi-platinum winning producer Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen, Lifehouse, Barenaked Ladies) and John Hampson (lead singer of Nine Days, "Story of a Girl"), an artist she credits with being not just a co-writer, but also a mentor and friend. Arden has also written with Rebecca Lynn Howard ("Forgive") and Marshall Altman ("Parachute" with Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Nathanson, Natasha Bedingfield).

She continues to develop, hone, and improve her sound and lyrics with Awake, produced by John Hampson and engineered by Paul Umbach. This album is a powerful blend of life experiences, laced with the lingering lessons acquired through writing with, listening to and learning from songwriters and musicians she greatly admires. Awake brings audiences elements of a live performance, sharing songs written about moments of time, real people and honest connections, enriched with soul and stories to tell.
