Manifesta 9 Parallel Events
Opening 1st September

We are pleased to invite you to the opening of the art project 'Vennestraat, Hidden Places and Identities',  that will take place in the Vennestraat, Genk (Belgium) on the 1st September, starting from 10 a.m. 

'Vennestraat Hidden Places and Identities' is a Parallel Events of the Manifesta9. The project investigates the identity, both on a human and a territorial scale, of the former mining Winterslag Cité, in Genk. It involves eleven international artists and art collectives and it includes exhibitions, site specific installations and workshops from the 1st and the 29th September 2012. 

The invited artists are: AuroraMeccanica, Fatma Bucak, Ettore Favini, Meryll Hardt, Marguerite Kahrl, Carole Louis, Vittorio Mortarotti, Geraldine Py / Roberto Verde, Karim Rafi, Younes Rahmoun, ZimmerFrei.

The project is curated by Francesca Berardi and Michela Sacchetto and organized in collaboration with Gilberte Claes and Karel Van Gerven, of the art and design gallery Galleriet. 
A catalogue will be published and available on 1st September.
