There is still time left to sign up for the Biggs Museum's Second Annual Golf Tournament!

The Biggs Museum Golf Tournament will be held at Wild Quail Country Club on Friday, September 21 at 12:30 p.m. The Tournament presented by Koppenhaver, Hawkins & Associates and Bayhealth Medical Center, will conclude with a cocktail hour and dinner that begins at 5:00 p.m. You do NOT have to play in the golf tournament to take part in the dinner and cocktail hour.  You can join us for dinner for $40 by purchasing your tickets online. A silent auction will take place during cocktail hour featuring some great items. If you are looking to escape the office for a day and want to join us for the tournament, gather your foursome and get your tickets today! There are still many opportunities available ranging from hole sponsorship to underwriting. Biggs Shot 2012 is almost here!

The Biggs Museum is currently seeking photographers for the 2012 Biggs Shot competition which will open this November. ALL levels of skill and enthusiasm are encouraged to participate! All entries must be received or postmarked by September 15, 2012. Completed entries must include entry form. Please email jkemske@biggsmuseum.org for application or to apply online.

Biggs Kids: Sea Glass

Saturday, September 1

2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

FREE! Children Ages 5-10

In anticipation of the Glass Transformed exhibition we will learn what the color and type of glass mean to a sea collector. Participants will be surprised to learn the most common color and shape of sea glass while constructing a vibrant sea glass mosaic to take home.

Glass Transformed is the first museum presentation of the photographic work of Celia Pearson within the State of Delaware. Based in Annapolis, Pearson travels the world to photograph unique sea glass collections. Spanning from still life to abstract studies of light and translucent glass, and presented in forms as varied as framed prints to fiber installations, Pearson's work has been published and exhibited widely.

$75 per person

This two-day workshop will empower you to take control of your camera's features and advance your skills. Professional Photographer, William Bretzger will provide participants with the knowledge essential to explore all capabilities of the digital SLR. Participants will also learn how to incorporate these tools with different lenses and will explore techniques of composition and lighting. By the workshop's end participants will have acquired an understanding of their camera and a collection of images that reflect their new expertise. Participants are required to bring a digital SLR camera and a flash card or thumb drive.

10th Annual Small Wonders Juried Exhibition
The Maryland Federation of Art in Annapolis, MD announces a call to artists for a juried exhibition, November 30-December 29, 2012 at Circle Gallery. $1,000 in cash awards. Juror: Laura Amussen, Exhibitions Director and Collections Coordinator, Goucher College. Seeking any two or three-dimensional work following guidelines and size limitations. 2-d work cannot exceed 11" on any one side (includes frame). 3-d work cannot exceed 7" in any direction. Artworks must be entered by uploading JPEG images through MFA's online entry system. Deadline is September 12, 2012. One-two entries $35 (MFA members $20); additional four entries $5 each.
