KENTUCKY MUSEUM OF ART AND CRAFT OFFERS NEW SERIES OF SUNDAY WORKSHOPS

 

Louisville, KY (August 27, 2012) - The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (KMAC), located at 715 West Main Street, has planned a new series of educational workshops called The Second Sunday Series, which will be open to participants of all ages. The workshops are designed to giveattendees a deeper understanding of the museum exhibitions through a hands-on art experience. Museum educators will provide opportunities for global connections and self introspection in an environment that encourages purposeful play and investigation of material and process during each workshop. Each workshop will be held from 12:00pm-3:00pm and advance registration is not required. The cost is $6 per person, in addition to regular museum admission, and free for museum members.

 

 

The first three workshops will be held in conjunction with KMAC's Storytelling as Craft exhibition and are as follows: "Storytelling with Fiber" on September 9th, "Digital Storytelling" on October 14th, and "Storytelling with Paper" on November 11th.

 

The following two workshops will coincide with KMAC's Wendell Castle: Forms within Forms exhibition and are as follows: "Design and Build with Wood" on December 9th and "Design and Build with Wire" on January 13th.

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is open Tuesday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 5:00pm, and closed on Mondays.
