Join us on Saturday, September 22nd at 1pm for a lively panel discussion on landmarks in the quilting world's past 25 years. Panelists: Gerald Roy, Nancy Halpern and Robert Shaw. Moderator: Anita Loscalzo.

This event is part of our 25th anniversary celebrations. Admission is free with museum entry. (Entirely free if you are a museum member!)

One of the fun events during last month's Lowell Quilt Festival was another fascinating panel, Quilting with a Crystal Ball: The Future of Our Craft. Showcased are techniques including embellishment, fabric dyeing, fusing, photo transfer, thread painting and more. Also represented: commemorative quilts, historic reproduction quilts, and quilts for a cause.

2 GREAT RAFFLES!

Two wonderful items are now up for raffle to support the programs and mission of the New England Quilt Museum.

December 14, 2012 is the drawing date for a Janome Memory Craft 6600P sewing machine. Also included is a rolling tote, for a total value of $2,599. This fabulous machine was generously donated by Red Barn Sewing & Yarn Center [Merrimack, MA], longtime supporters of the museum. Tickets: $5.

On May 2, 2013, we'll be drawing the name of the lucky winner of a beautiful Aunt Grace Circle of Friends quilt. This 80"x80" quilt, designed by Judie Rothermel and Vicki Bellino, was machine pieced, hand appliqued and quilted by Shirley Bangma from a pattern and fabric donated by Helane Huntington [both of Uxbridge, MA]. We are so thankful for their support! Tickets: $1 ea./6 for $5.

For more information on these raffles, visit our website, drop by the museum, or call 978-452-4207 ext.16.

SIGNATURE QUILT

Quilt design: Jacque Thompson, Mary Furber
As a major fundraising project for our 25th anniversary, we’re creating a signature quilt embroidered with the names of our favorite people – our supporters! The finished quilt will be displayed in the museum and become part of the permanent collection.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support museum education programs and the care of our permanent collection. For a $250 tax-deductible donation, you can have your name (or the name of your guild, friend or loved one) embroidered on a New England-inspired star, mountain, maple leaf or sailboat block.

We’ll be collecting names and donations between now and October 1, 2012. To learn how to get a name on this new museum treasure, visit our website.
