Painting the Landscape (New Class)
5 Thursdays Oct 18 - Nov 15 6-8pm
The art of landscape presents unusual problems and opportunities for the artist. While there is a great deal of freedom in terms of rendering, color, style etc., in order to create a convincing landscape expression special skills and insights are required. In this class we will explore specific landscape elements such as sky, depiction of space, light, and color. As the course progresses we'll develop our drawing skills with special exercises. We'll examine the history of landscape painting as well. Students may use any media they wish so long as color is involved.
