Celebrate John Cage with The New York Public Library

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center celebrates this anniversary by publishing anew edition of its Point iBook series in September. The book, which will be available in ePub format later this fall, explores Cage’s compositional technique of altering a piano’s sound by inserting nuts, bolts and other objects into its strings.

On September 27th, the library continues its celebration of Cage’s life with a performance by musicians featured in John Cage Unbound: A Living Archive, an NYPL website that presents items from its collection of Cage manuscripts as well as user-contributed videos of musicians interpreting Cage’s music.
