As the end draws near, the Gallery is delighted to premiere the short film ※The Art of Boxing§ featuring Sharmb芍 Mitchell, former two-time Junior Welterweight Champion of the World, and Charles Brock, associate curator of American and British paintings at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, in conversation about the three greatest sports paintings in American art求Club Night (1907), Stag at Sharkey's (1909), and Both Members of This Club (1909)求only on view together in the Washington installation.

As one of the most talented and ambitious American artists, George Bellows (1882每1925) created a body of work that celebrated contemporary American life. George Bellows is the first comprehensive exhibition in three decades on the artist, showcasing more than 130 works, including a large selection of boxing works on paper as well as Bellows* late boxing masterpiece Dempsey and Firpo (1924).

The exhibition will travel to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (November 15, 2012每February 18, 2013), and close at the Royal Academy of Arts, London (March 16每June 9, 2013).
