Firstly, we'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated and attended Darklight this year. It was a really amazing weekend. Terence Davies and Seamus McGarvey were inspiring and we got totally hooked on playing Indie games. We hope you all enjoyed it, we sure did!! 3. Recyclism presents Physical Computing Masterclass
When: Wednesday 26th of September, from 10am to 4.30pm
Where: Hosted by Recyclism Hacklab
How: Bring your own laptop (Mac, Pc or Linux)
Who: Limited to 10 participants
Fee: €65 (Online booking mandatory and nonrefundable)
During this Master class participants will become familiar with basic hardware and software design while at the same time gaining hands-on experience making interactive art projects, digital art performances, installations, interactive events using moving images and sound. The workshop covers the basis of Physical Computing using Arduino, Pure Data and Processing. Participants will be able to control sound and visuals in Pure Data or Processing by using a variety of Sensors (distance sensor, light sensor, temperature sensor, potentiometer, etc..). Each participant will have use of a starter kit (Arduino, bread boards, basic tools and sensors) for the day. This initial class can be follow by groups or individual follow-up sessions to help participants complete a personal project or expand
their knowledge in specific areas.

This course is run by Benjamin Gaulon, an artist and lecturer at the National College of Art and Design. Since 2005, Benjamin has been exploring Circuit Bending and Hardware Hacking. He has also been running similar workshops in Europe and the US. He has created the Recyclism Hacklab in 2011.

4. Hollywood Babylon returns
Hooray for the return of Hollywood Babylon!!
Where and when: Saturday 13th October they're screening HEATHERS in the plush surroundings of the Lighthouse Cinema.
With: Cocktail specials at the bar.
Hollywood Babylon say "These are the real Mean Girls and this one of the sharpest, darkest and most hilarious movies of the 1980s. Skewering societal norms on a big sharp stick." We concur.
