Carver Audain // Composers Inside Electronics (John Driscoll, Tom Hamilton and Doug Van Nort)

Electronic musician Carver Audain presents a newly completed work, Continental Drift, commissioned by the Jerome Foundation. Continental Drift is a densely lush, meditative sonic environment designed to transport the audience to a tranquil plateau. This newly realized work is composed for multi-speaker arrangements and live guitar, and will be accompanied by the first installation of the Harmonic Constituent Series, a selection of moving images complimenting the sonic structures. Also on the program will be engaging electro-acoustic music collective, Composers Inside Electronics (CIE). CIE will present several new individual works using custom-built software and electro-acoustic instruments, rotating and focused loudspeaker systems and ultrasonic instruments, all emphasizing a rich sonic architecture.

TwoSense: Lisa Moore & Ashley Bathgate

TwoSense is a chamber duo and commissioning venture.  Described as the “new music equivalent of a special ops team” (New York Magazine), these “eloquent new-music interpreters” (NY Times) perform new works paired with mainstream classics for cello and piano.  The powerhouse duo open their 3rd season with a concert of American chamber music including Samuel Barber’s impassioned Sonata Op.6 and Timo Andres’ folksong transformation Fast Flows The River. The program highlights the TwoSense mission – three world premieres – newly commissioned works composed by Ryan Brown, Daniel Felsenfeld and Hannah Lash.

Adam Rudolph's Go Organic Orchestra

Unique in the realm of approaches to improvisational conducting, Rudolph conducts the Go: Organic Orchestra in a spontaneous way by using a variety of hand signals to cue and orchestrate the score and direct the improvisations, thus generating unusual relationships of sound against sound, form against form, and rhythm against rhythm in a non-linear, ever shifting kaleidoscope of music images.

Red Light New Music: The Satie-Cage Connection

The vigorous new music collective RED LIGHT NEW MUSIC explores the dynamics of eccentricity and play in the creative process, with a program focused on the aesthetic ties between avant-garde artists Erik Satie and John Cage.  Featuring work by Satie and Cage as well as Christian Wolff, Gérard Grisey, Scott Wollschleger, Vincent Raikhel and selected films by French illusionist Georges Méliès.
