Elissaveta Iordanova - Roots and Origins
Inspired by the classical short-story The Windmill by the Bulgarian writer Elin Pelin, Roots and Origins is an interactive, two-part project that embodies Bulgarian folklore through a creative interplay between music,
dance, and the written word.
Guowei Wang - The Art of Erhu Music
Erhu master musician Guowei Wang conducts a lecture and performance by students on the art of erhu music. Erhu, the Chinese two-string fiddle, is the basis of the traditional Chinese orchestra. Its expressive powers and voice-like timbre
reflect the distinct colors and musical characteristics that identify regional styles in Chinese folk music.
