Wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes, dress in layers, and bring a hat and sunscreen. Reserve by October 7. Space is limited.

Birds of Dos Palmas Oasis

The Dos Palmas Preserve is located near the northeast margin of the Salton Sea. The oasis encompasses a rich mosaic of desert habitats and important wetlands. Participants will search for migrant birds here and at the north end of the Salton Sea. All guests will meet at the County Museum in Redlands by 6:00 a.m. for an early departure and return to the museum about 5 p.m. The cost of $70 per person or $60 for a Museum Association member includes transportation, morning coffee, lunch, water, and light snacks. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes, dress in layers, and bring a hat, sunscreen, a bird field guide, and binoculars. This trip includes some walking on gravel and sand. Space is limited and pre-paid reservations are required. Reserve no later than October 15.
